Fee Structure and Access Update
Dear SCARD Users,
Following our November communication and the valuable feedback we received from the SCARD community, we are writing to confirm the fee structure and access arrangements for the SCARD Audit.
Your support reinforced the importance of SCARD as a clinical audit tool, and this next step ensures the platform remains secure, sustainable, and able to continue supporting best practice in skin cancer care.
SCARD Fees
The SCARD Audit will operate on a simple subscription model:
- AU$30 per month, or
- AU$300 per year
This applies to all users.
Existing Users
- When charging commences:
Fees will apply from 1 March 2026. - If you choose not to subscribe:
Existing users who do not wish to continue on a paid plan will retain access to their historical data and specimens.
However, new entries cannot be added once the subscription period commences.
This ensures clinicians always retain access to their prior audit records while keeping SCARD viable in the long term.
New Users (2026 onwards)
- Subscription cost:
AU$30 per month or AU$300 per year. - Trial period:
New accounts include a 4-week free trial, allowing clinicians to:- Complete a skin check
- Add and manage lesions
- Record excisions and results
- Finalise a full clinical audit cycle
- Students:
Students are eligible for the same 4-week free trial, which provides access to learning and familiarisation with the audit process.
Why this change matters
As outlined in our November update, the introduction of fees supports:
- Ongoing cybersecurity and compliance requirements
- Platform maintenance and infrastructure costs
- Essential upgrades and feature development
- Long-term availability of SCARD for clinicians and patients
SCARD remains built on collaboration, trust, and a shared commitment to improving skin cancer outcomes. This model allows us to continue delivering a reliable, clinically meaningful audit while safeguarding the data entrusted to us.
Further details on subscriptions and account management will be provided closer to the commencement date.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss your circumstances, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Thank you for your continued support of SCARD.
Kind regards,
The SCARD Team
